[comp.sys.apollo] "level 2 prcess"?

krowitz@RICHTER.MIT.EDU (David Krowitz) (10/10/90)

Here's a new one ... my machine which is our "glbd" and "rgyd" master is
accumulating prcesses which show up in the /com/dspst display as
"level 2 process". I've got about a half dozen of these right now. They
don't show up in /com/pst, but they do show up in the output of
/bin/ps -aux, which I've
included below. Note that these all have low-numbered PID's, but they
weren't present when the machine was booted. Anyone have any idea of
what these creatures are/do/come from?

I wish I knew what these were too - once you get one of these beasties
though you've had it though - it's reboot time while you still can.
We only seem to get them one at a time, but they mainly appear on our
(DN10000) 'glbd' and master 'rgyd' node too.
