To use VME devices on our apollos, we have bought the ATbus/VME adaptor 406 from Bit 3. We therefore need to write the corresponding driver. Has anyone experienced writing this kind of driver on apollos ? Any tip, pointer, code, and encouragements will be appreciated ! Writing device drivers for the Apollo I/O bus requires the General Purpose I/O (GPIO) optional product from HP/Apollo. They provide sample device drivers with the library. Writing your own driver is non-trivial, as there are timing errors, DMA differences, and flat out bugs that varying according to both the CPU type (DN3000 vs 3010 vs 4000 vs 3500/4500) and OS revision level. -- David Krowitz krowitz@richter.mit.edu (18.83.0.109) krowitz%richter.mit.edu@eddie.mit.edu krowitz%richter.mit.edu@mitvma.bitnet (in order of decreasing preference)
