Thanks for the info on tn3270. I ftp'ed the tar file, but when I try and untar it I get => $ tar -xvf tn3270.tar.Z wow tar: directory checksum error (0 != -2315) I've looked at the man page for tar, what am I doing wrong? I've tried about every combination tar -x, tar -xbfv, tar -xfv..... I don't get much out of the error message :( HELP!!! austin@meto.umd.edu

The ".Z" appended to the filename indicates that the tar file has been compressed. First use "uncompress tn3270.tar" to uncompress the file. Then use "tar -xvf tn3270.tar" to unpack the directory. -- David Krowitz krowitz@richter.mit.edu (18.83.0.109) krowitz%richter.mit.edu@eddie.mit.edu krowitz%richter.mit.edu@mitvma.bitnet (in order of decreasing preference)
