If the function keys for the screen editor were disabled (got a message insufficient rights... on the error window), where should I look to fix this? The cutting and pasting, windowing stuf all works, it's just the editor functions that does not work. Can anyone enlighten me on this keyboard function key mystery? Pretty much any key on the keyboard can be redefined using the DM "kd" command. When you login, your key definitions are read from the ~/user_data/key_defs?* file. When you logout, your current definitions are stored in the file (in case you made any changes). The standard key definitions can be found in /sys/dm/std_keys?*, which are files of DM "kd" commands for redefining the basic keyboard. -- David Krowitz krowitz@richter.mit.edu (18.83.0.109) krowitz%richter.mit.edu@eddie.mit.edu krowitz%richter.mit.edu@mitvma.bitnet (in order of decreasing preference)
