I've got $150,000 to spend on a computer graphics visualization system. We are an Apollo network with about 25 nodes. We do finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics. We write allot of our own analysis software. We also use alot of 3rd party software. Should we buy a DN10000VS ? What about future upgrades for hardware and software, 3rd party software. Should we buy from somebody else, SGI, IBM, HP.? How would you configure your dream system. Keep in mind the primary purpose of the machine is visualization and we only have money for hardware. We'll write our own software or buy it later. Thanks in advance for your opinions, e-mail please Bob Lipman David Taylor Research Center (A Navy R&D lab) Computational Mechanics Division Bethesda, MD
