Confronted with a cash-and-carry offer to relieve our permanent diskspace-crisis a collegue of mine acquired an Adaptec acb2322 revision C hard-disk controller and a fitting Newbury disk (Maxtor 4380 compatible) : While I've got these working in an ordinary PC I'm still stuck with an 'controller not found' ( test from MD ) on the Apollo DN3010 . Can anybody offer me some hints (desperated : satisfied with the glimpse of a hint already :-( ) on how to get this working ? Thanx in advance Georg

I believe that the DN3000 device drivers for disk only recognize certain models of the Ompti disk controllers (the 8800, 8810, and 8610 are the controllers listed by the /systest/ssr_util/jumper program for the DN3000 disk controllers -- other controllers listed for the DN3500/4000/4500 include the 8621-1C and 8621-1D and the Western Digitial WD7000). Unless your controller is H/W compatible with the Ompti models, I don't think the OS will recognize it. -- David Krowitz krowitz@richter.mit.edu (18.83.0.109) krowitz%richter.mit.edu@eddie.mit.edu krowitz%richter.mit.edu@mitvma.bitnet (in order of decreasing preference)
