[comp.sys.apollo] Mentor v7.x/DN10000 problems

There is a bug that we came across when trying to use the DN10000 (@ SR10.3.p)
with Mentor 7.X from a 7.X node (DN3k/4k @SR10.3).
Mentor has changed the location that it looked for the information for a
remote server. Previously, (as in 7.0) when spawning a remote process on the DN10000
such as the lsim_server for a simulation, Mentor looked on the remote node for the needed
library information for the remote process. However, in 7.X, Mentor now is looking at
the local node for the library information of the remote server.

This means that one of two things must happen:

1) The library information for the DN10000 (/idea/sys/lib) must be added to every node
that wants to create a remote process on the DN10000. I am not sure that this is
even possible from the Mentor install script.

2) Install links in the /idea/sys/lib directory for every node that wants to create a
process on the DN10000. Since the DN10000 is only authorized for QuickSim and
QuickFault, there is only three links that need to be added to every node. The links
   are as follows:
        crl /idea/sys/lib/lsim_server.prism //wst12/idea/sys/lib/lsim_server.prism
        crl /idea/sys/lib/fsim_server.prism //wst12/idea/sys/lib/fsim_server.prism
        crl /idea/sys/lib/synonym_server.prism //wst12/idea/sys/lib/synonym_server.prism
This is a real pain to add after installing the software, but is the only fix that is
   currently available.

Mentor has been notified of the problem and has reproduced the problem. They were also
informed that the creating of the links was not a very accceptable solution to the
problem.
