I am trying to install psroff on our Apollos. The entire make procedure seems to go OK, however the font width files don't seem to be being built correctly. After "make installwidths", when I run "make test" the printer reports an error (with an error handler loaded). If I do a "make TEST" and then "tbl TEST | ./psroff -Tps -F -X" (so I can use the -F option to see troff's stderr output), I get the following error from troff: Cannot read /usr/lib/font/ps/ftR and troff exits. I'm pretty sure that the problem is the format of the width files, because I copied the /bsd4.3/usr/lib/font/ft? files to the /usr/lib/font/ps directory and then troff did not complain. The ftR generated by psroff is the same size as the /bsd4.3/usr/lib/font/ftR file, so I'm pretty sure that I'v gotten the HEADERSIZE/COFF options correct (undef HEADERSIZE, define COFF). Has anyone gotten the psroff font widths to build so that they are useable on an Apollo? (SR10.2 by the way...) Any and all help appreciated. E-mail replies to save net.bandwidth, I'll summarize.
