My mailer's being a little picky about responding to a couple of European sites, so let me just post my thanks to those who answered my ?'s about how to rlogin as root to DN nodes; you know who you are. The answer, by the way, lies in the file /etc/ttys. Seems you need an entry in this file for each pty on your system to allow root to use that pty: ttyp0 none network off secure ttyp1 none network off secure .... ttypf none network off secure Of course, apollo doesn't mention this in any of the sysadmin or tcp docs that I have, and since the rest of the unix world seems to have graduated from /etc/ttys to /etc/inittab some time ago, I never would have come up w/ this on my own. Thanks again! -- Paul B. Booth (paul@eye.com) (...!hplabs!hpfcla!eye!paul) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3D/EYE, Inc., 2359 N.
