I need to know if anyone has a one-step process for printing from IBM
PS/2 mod 50s through the Aegis prf command. We have 60 - 80 PCs which we
want to connect to our Ethernet Network. The PCs will login to the Domain
workstations as X terminaals to run jobs on the workstations.
My problem that when the PCs are running DOS software (WordPerfect, Lotus
1-2-3 etc..) they cannot print to printers which are connected via prf without
first printing to a file, exiting the DOS program, logining onto the Domain
Network and finally issueing the prf command!
The ideal solution would be that when a PC user issues a print command from
DOS the data is diverted from the parallel or serial port to the Ethernet card
to an Apollo workstation which will then direct the data to the printer.
I don't want to setup a PC Lan just to get print services. I am hoping that
someone else has this problem and has solved it! Our Domain network is only
4 - 5 months old anmd not fully installed. We have 3 DN10ks, 55 9000/400ts, and20 9000/400s. These are connected via ethernet, (not APT) and we are running
at OS level 10.3.
