[comp.sys.apollo] Using Nameserver and /etc/hosts file

Is there any way of using both /etc/hosts file and name server together.
We want to use aliases in the /etc/hosts file and also want to use
the name server for connecting to the hosts which are not in the 
/etc/hosts file. We are running SR 10.3.
