> Are there any Apollo sites that are running Nemacs (kanji Emacs) ? > Any info is greatly appreciated. Thank you. I am running NEmacs on Apollos for several months, and I hope this helps you: 1) You can run the ordinal NEmacs without 'undump'ing it. You build the NEmacs object in the same way as on other machines, not enabling the 'undump' codes. You have to wait all the .el files to be loaded every time you invoke NEmacs, but anyway, this works. In this case, NEmacs runs as an X11 application. 2) You can add Mr. Zubkoff's Apollo patches (which originally are the patches to Emacs) to NEmacs. This allows you to run NEmacs using GPR graphics mode as well as X11 mode. Use gpr_$text16() to display kanji characters. You can use the kanji16, kanji24, etc. fonts found in sr10.[23]'s /sys/dm/fonts directory. The task is not so hard as you would expect. I could finish the modification in few days, and NEmacs is working fine. Please note that in this case you can undump NEmacs, and NEmacs will run in both X11 mode and GPR mode. --- Takashi Matsuzawa Japan CPO Yokogawa Hewlett-Packard.
