A network support group recently purchased an 8mm drive and the Backup Architect software from Workstation Solutions. The intention was to set this up for unattended backups. The problem I'm having is that when a backup fails - it gets rescheduled at inconvenient times. I would prefer a message telling me of the failed backup and retry the backup myself. Is there any way to turn off the rescheduling feature? Also, I find it annoying that a window pops up on the node even when nobody is logged in. On more than a few occasions, someone has iconized the window, and the backup scheduled for the following day fails because the window was never closed. I'd like to turn off this feature as well so that I can have TRULY UNATTENDED backups. I would like to just change tapes in the drive and have the rest be automatic and transparent. A log file of failed backups would be sufficient for my needs. If anyone has info on how I can fix things, or if WS is monitoring this news group, I can be reached at: internet: praine@cmsa.gmr.com -------or------- (313)986-0793 Thanks in advance, - Paul Raine -- Paul Raine praine@cmsa.gmr.com -or- G.M.
