[comp.sys.apollo] rwho on DN4500 under SR10.3

tmalaher@ajfcal.uucp (Tom Malaher) (04/17/91)

Running a DN4500 with 32MB of RAM, 697MB disk, with SR10.3...
running the rwho daemon.
Another (similarly configured) node has a (domain file system) link
across the network to the /usr/spool/rwho directory, and is also
running rwho (but not logging incoming packets, because of the way
Apollo rwho works).

I start things up, and initially, our other Unix boxes (SCO ODT 1.0.1)
receive and log a few rwho packets, then mysteriously report the Apollos
have "gone down"... but report other SCO boxes as "up". The Apollos
still report everything as up...

Hmmm... Maybe this isn't an Apollo problem after all...

However:
Before installing SR10.3, the uptime was reported OK (most of the time),
but all users shown in rwho had 99:59 of idle time...

Now, nothing gets reported at all.
