[comp.sys.apollo] NFS mounting problems between Apollo and Ultrix

fredv@vmsd.oac.uci.edu (04/19/91)

I am trying to mount a partition off of a DECstation 5000/200 running
Ultrix 4.1
on an Apollo 3500 with Domain/OS SR10.2 and NFS 2.1 and patch 186
installed
with no success. The command I use is:
                           /etc/mount -o soft ultrix:/usr
//apollo/ultrix
where "ultrix" is the DEC machine and "apollo" is the Apollo system.

The error I get is:
                   mount: rpc error "authentication error"
                   mount: nfsmount returned in error

The "ultrix:/usr" partition is open to anyone to mount and in fact has
been mounted
by other systems.

The same ultrix machine is also mounting the apollo:// with no problems,
and the apollo is able to mount partitions off of other vendor systems.

Please, can anyone help?
