G'day, I've written a GIF viewer for apollo's (can be configured for most node hardware, system 9 etc). It can (optionally) store a decoded GIF as a bitmap, and taks advantage of large HDM's on some nodes. It loads one gif while displaying another for extra speed, and can also encode bitmaps as .gif files (for portability & saving disk space). It runs on 1,4 or 8-plane nodes by quantizing colours, and can expand a picture using hardware-zooms or a software expander on nodes without colour zoom. If you'd like a copy, email me. I would very much like to receive a copy of your program, can you please email it to me. thanx in advance. A while back I remember a GIF viewer for the Apollos floating around the group. Could someone send me the source? Also where does one find out about the particulars of the GIF format? Thanks, Russell Shanks wa115@sdcc12.ucsd.edu

xgif works nicely. Drop me a line if it isn't sitting around... Jim
