[comp.sys.apollo] HP 400t

dwork@brahms.amd.com (Jeff Dwork) (04/23/91)

We have had two HP400t disk crashes out of about 10 systems. One was a real
head crash, the other a mysterious problem which went away when the disk was
invol'd and restored from backup. All our systems came from Mentor
Graphics. We are running SR 10.3.

Are these just bad luck or should we expect more of the same?

Thanks for your help.

Just Bad Luck, My 8 400t nodes have had Zero disk problems in ~8months.
(lost one sony monitor horiz scan) That problem fixed by invol was not a
disk crash but a transient error that wrote to a baaad place. We had this
happen once due to major power glitches. (the same glitches caused >$10,000.
damage to a VAX. )
