[comp.sys.apollo] Lost Revenue

SRFERGU%ERENJ@PUCC.PRINCETON.EDU (Scott Ferguson) (05/02/91)

Just to fuel the fire a little bit, I figured that I'd mention that I've
spent $200K on computers from Stardent over the last two years. I was a
zealot for Apollo machines, but the HP takeover (and an incredibly
inept salesman) prevented me from going into the DN10K systems.

If HP hadn't screwed up the whole program, perhaps they would've earned
my sales.

So far, these corporate giants have managed to ruin quite a few companies,
thank heaven I don't work for NCR, looks like AT&T is out to do the same
for them...

All opinions are my own, and not those of Exxon Research & Engineering Co.

At the risk of sounding totally ignorant, could you please be more specific
as to what HP did to ruin Apollo? Note that I'm not challenging you, I'm
simply curious.

Thanks,
Bill
