just about to catch up on current batch of mailing list requests. i have recently moved from the computing center to the engineering college at michigan, and i suspect the mailing list will move as well (across the street). the umix address will work anyway, so not to worry. --paul

As nearly as I can tell, the alias this list gets sent to at apollo.com is bouncing mail to this list back. I don't know if anything is being read at apollo.com via this list or if they see it via news, or what. We are trying to figure things out. --paul

i added/deleted/changed several addresses on the list. getting caught up, etc. keep those requests, demands, and irrational desires coming.

i caught up with many requests. sorry for the delays. will keep on keeping on. for a while, someone at umix aliased apollo-request -> /dev/null and i didn't know about it. i am going to move the list from umix (where i used to work) to engin (where i am now) and that will help out quite a bit. if someone would like to volunteer for a stint at doing the list, let me know. i'll tell you what it involves and we can try and work something out. maybe someone can just help deal with the apollo-request alias. i do not recommend doing this mailing list on an apollo, however. --paul

1. list additions/deletions are up to date, as of now. At least, I think so. Tell me if it seems otherwise to you. 2. Mail got plugged up here for a couple days, so if you noticed a dry spell that was why. 3. I think the news gateway at berkeley might be still saying the list is at umix instead of at engin, but we seem to be coping with that OK. umix is MXed to here, and apollo@umix is aliased to apollo@engin for the sites that do not look at MX records. --paul

1. requested list changes all caught up. 2. send to apollo@engin.umich.edu if you want the whole list to see your message, apollo-request if you are asking for a list change, etc. 3. enough people seem interested in the idea of an archived version of this list, broken down month by month with an easily accessed index/list of subjects that i will do that. 4. i am really going to try to make a version of sendmail with clearly marked apollo-related mods available. it will be based on a garden-variety sendmail release. i am not a King James or IDA user. also have a version of mh that supports apollo shared libs and some other goodies. 5. this machine (engin.umich.edu) will be down monday may 13 for an upgrade (it's a decstation going from ultrix 3.1 to 4.1 if you're interested). i hope the conversion goes smoothly. in any event, we'll be here until it's done. --paul
