I have been using vmstat (utility hidden in /systest/ssr_util) to try to measure the stress on the virtual memory system on our Apollo network. I understand the VAX virtual memory system very well and have used monitor to illustrate the memory needs of various task/OS combinations but I don't know if the same info can be extended to the Apollo's. For example if I had a free list size of 0 on the VAX I would know I was in trouble. Can anyone shed any light on the figures return by vmstat and has anyone out there got a source of info on the Apollo VM system in general? -- _--_|\ Peter Yardley, Systems Administrator | petery@uts.edu.au / \ Computer Systems Engineering, | peter@ele.uts.edu.au \_.--._* School of Electrical Engineering, | Ph: +61 2 218-9385 v University of Technology, Sydney. | Fax: +61 2 281-5996 -- _--_|\ Peter Yardley, Systems Administrator | petery@uts.edu.au / \ Computer Systems Engineering, | peter@ele.uts.edu.au \_.--._* School of Electrical Engineering, | Ph: +61 2 218-9385 v University of Technology, Sydney. | Fax: +61 2 281-5996
