We ordered the ftn 10.8.m(208) and 10.8.p(200) patch compilers from the Hotline; something actually got fixed, but the 10.8.p (for DN10000s) has still got severe problems with compiling simple programs with -O (nested DO/IF is almost guaranteed to mess up it seems). The 10.8.m (version 208) seems OK (as did the official 10.8.m compiler) on the same test cases. Once again, I have removed the 10.8.p(patch) compiler from our DN10000 as it produces incorrect results (although this time it does compile our "compiler-breaker" code correctly). I would like to have a functioning 10.8.p compiler, since many of the 10.7.p bugs have been corrected (especially the COMPLEX arithmetic ones; as I said before, anyone who uses COMPLEX data type with ftn 10.7.p is almost certainly getting wrong results with "-O", may be OK with "-g"). -- Mike Peterson, System Administrator, U/Toronto Department of Chemistry E-mail: system@alchemy.chem.utoronto.ca Tel: (416) 978-7094 Fax: (416) 978-8775
