Does anyone know how I obtain an NCS (Remote Procedure Calls) implementation for running on an MS-DOS system? The various books on the subject hint at MS-DOS implementations being available. Indeed Apollo's include files mention the MS-DOS implementation. We are already using the Apollo Domain PCI product to share disc space between the Apollos and PCs. What I need is a way to tell the PC to compile a named file (which it happens to find on the shared disc). Please follow up to this question as I am not sure whether my email address is secure yet. Regards, Colin.

We have used a XENIX (running on '386) version of NCS from Dharma
Systems - they may have a DOS version? Their details are:

Caveat: we could not get this to interoperate with our Apollos'
NCS (i.e. glbd and llbd), although this could easily have been due
to our lack of skill :-).

The source code release of NCK (Network Computing Kernel) of NCS, can be built on MS-DOS systems. Current version is 1.5.1. You can order it from HP (the order number in Sweden is LA38C00C, 011396-A02 for Release Document). We have been using NCS for a long time on UNIX systems, but never tried it out on MS-DOS, so this is only from the documentation.
