I want to use tip to dial out, and am having trouble getting /etc/remote or /usr/lib/uucp/Dialers set up correctly. I have a Supra 2400 (Hayes compatible) hanging off of a 4500 running 10.3 where ther SYSTYPE is bsd4.3. I get "can't sychronize with hayes" every time. The strange thing is that I can manually run Uutry and it will dial out just fine. I posted about this in March, and got some hints about either using kermit or running an Aegis script. I also got a comment that Apollo serial ports were just plain broken. I really just want to be able to tip out the same way I would on a Sun or a Sony or whatever else. Should I be using sio1, or tty01? Can anyone send me the relevant part of /etc/remote or whatever file in /usr/lib/uucp that makes this possible? Why do the Apollo docs talk about ventel left and right and hardly mention hayes?
