Hi, I am posting this again because I think my posting was lost last week ( I did not receive any response yet ). A week or so ago I have posted a question to this group about a possible scenario when upgrading to sr10.3. I would like other administrators to comment on this for possible things I might have overlooked : Our site plans to upgrade to sr10.3 and at the same time change the configuration drastically. That means that all directory links will have to be changed. The install utility supports an option "-m" for handling file links, whether they are pointing to the local system or to a remote one. So using this option in order to perform a "clean" installation is fine if you do not plan to make many changes to the configuration of your apollo network. However, this option does not take care of directory links ( I mean in this case links starting with //... ). So I guess that writing a kind of "de-install" script which searches for all directory links and deletes them before performing an installation ( with a new config file of course ) + add the most important files to save in the preserve_list before starting would do the job well, but I have never done this before, so I am not sure. Except installing the ANSI-C compiler, there would be no additional work to do for other optional software ... So my question was/is : will this work ?
