Boy... I'm impressed... Apollo tried to respond by phone, and then sent me E-mail... The solution was documented and the fix is to load Patch 159 from last years patch tape. Here is what I got from Apollo technical support: From cec1!uunet!apollo.com!zaino Fri Jun 28 14:01:11 1991 Return-Path: <cec1!uunet!apollo.com!zaino> Received: by cel.cummins.com ( 5.52 (84)/1.1) id AA19156; Fri, 28 Jun 91 13:47:41 EST From: cec1!uunet!apollo.com!zaino Received: from uunet.UUCP by cummins.com (4.1/SMI-4.1) id AA10133; Fri, 28 Jun 91 13:57:30 EST Received: from uunet.uu.net (via LOCALHOST.UU.NET) by relay1.UU.NET with SMTP (5.61/UUNET-internet-primary) id AA08499; Fri, 28 Jun 91 14:41:12 -0400 Received: from cec1.UUCP by uunet.uu.net with UUCP/RMAIL (queueing-rmail) id 144014.25356; Fri, 28 Jun 1991 14:40:14 EDT Received: from uunet.UUCP by cummins.com (4.1/SMI-4.1) id AA10033; Fri, 28 Jun 91 13:14:55 EST Received: from apollo.com (via amway.ch.apollo.hp.com) by relay1.UU.NET with SMTP (5.61/UUNET-internet-primary) id AA00223; Fri, 28 Jun 91 14:08:05 -0400 Received: from xuucp.ch.apollo.hp.com by apollo.com id <AA29221@apollo.com> Fri, 28 Jun 91 13:51:01 EDT Received: by xuucp.ch.apollo.hp.com id <AA07379@xuucp.ch.apollo.hp.com>; Fri, 28 Jun 91 13:47:39 EDT Message-Id: <9106281747.AA07379@xuucp.ch.apollo.hp.com> Received: by daphne.ch.apollo.hp.com id AA08177; Fri, 28 Jun 91 13:20:10 EDT Date: Fri, 28 Jun 91 13:02:41 EST Subject: CAll #AT029452 To: cec1!cel!philip Hi Phil, I got the following call in today - and called at 1305 EDT and you were out. So I figured I'd email you in case we didn't get in touch today. Here is what the call said: >COMPANY NAME CUMMINS ELECTRONICS COMPANY > NAME TITLE PHONE EXT. > CALLER PHILLIP POKORMY INVL (812) 377-5161 >OTHER CALLER BRAD GARLAND SYSM ( ) > SYSTEM TYPE APOLLO MODEL 3000 OPSYS SR 10.1 > P R O B L E M S U M M A R Y > >IN ATTEMPT TO RUN AN APPLICATION, RECEIVES "APPLICATION DOES NOT >RUN...ABSOLUTE LOAD ADDRESS ALREADY OCCUPIED"? RUNNING THE ASSEMBLER >APPLICATION (3RD PARTY). I believe that this application may have been compiled at sr10.3 and you are trying to run it at 10.1. The segment size changed at 10.3 and it can cause this type of error. The solution (I hope) is to load patch 159 (/lib/pmlib) . I hope this helps - speak to you soon! Bart zaino@apollo.hp.com There are people at Apollo getting the job done and being responsive! Sincerely, Philip D. Pokorny philip@cel.cummins.com :)
