[comp.sys.apollo] 10.3 and 10.1 executables...

philip@cel.cummins.com (Philip D. Pokorny) (06/29/91)

Boy... I'm impressed... Apollo tried to respond by phone, and then
sent me E-mail... The solution was documented and the fix is to load
Patch 159 from last years patch tape. Here is what I got from Apollo
technical support:

	Hi Phil,

I got the following call in today - and called at 1305 EDT and you were
out. So I figured I'd email you in case we didn't get in touch today.

Here is what the call said:

	 >COMPANY NAME CUMMINS ELECTRONICS COMPANY
	 > NAME TITLE PHONE EXT.
	 > CALLER PHILLIP POKORMY INVL (812) 377-5161
	 >OTHER CALLER BRAD GARLAND SYSM ( )
	 > SYSTEM TYPE APOLLO MODEL 3000 OPSYS SR 10.1
	 > P R O B L E M S U M M A R Y
	 >
	 >IN ATTEMPT TO RUN AN APPLICATION, RECEIVES "APPLICATION DOES NOT
	 >RUN...ABSOLUTE LOAD ADDRESS ALREADY OCCUPIED"? RUNNING THE ASSEMBLER
	 >APPLICATION (3RD PARTY).

I believe that this application may have been compiled at sr10.3 and you
are trying to run it at 10.1. The segment size changed at 10.3 and it
can cause this type of error. The solution (I hope) is to load
	patch 159 (/lib/pmlib) .

I hope this helps - speak to you soon!

There are people at Apollo getting the job done and being responsive!
