A little joke, but also a gentle dig in the ribs for Sequent. A bug in our X.25 software often causes login processes to become disconnected from their controlling terminals (most of which are connected over Ethernet). The occasional profusion of dead or zombie processes, tempts us to rename our machine from a Sequent Symmetry to a Sequent Cemetery :-) :-) This bug is supposedly being looked into by Sequent Europe, but they're not exactly hurrying themselves over it :-( Cheers! -- Andy Clews, Computing Service, Univ. of Sussex, Brighton BN1 9QN, ENGLAND JANET: andy@syma.sussex.ac.uk BITNET: andy%syma.sussex.ac.uk@uk.ac Voice: +44 273 606755 ext.2129
