Hello, I need your help. One of the professors at our department is having problems with the VADS compiler (Verdix Corporation) version 5.41 on our Sequent Balance 8000 running Dynix version 3.0.14. We just upgraded our Operating System from 3.0.4, on which this program ran just fine before, he believes. It is giving him a '** MAIN PROGRAM ABANDONED -- EXCEPTION "program error" RAISED', then the core dumps. He believes it comes up when virtual memory is being used. Another problem is that it appears that only five of the processors are being used, in a program which he starts up many processes in order to try to control this. He has tried to change the environment variable N_PROC_VADS, but it seems to have no affect. I realize that VADS is no longer supported on the Balance 8000 by Verdix or Sequent, but I have to work with I have. Thanks for your help. I would be glad to send the code along if you want it. -- Alan C.
