For those with a Sequent Source License, I have made mods to getty to enable it to do automatic speed detection based on receipt of a single Carriage Return Character (ascii octal 015). This particular implementation recognizes 300, 1200, 2400, and 9600 baud asynchronus terminals. Since the classic method of pressing a BREAK to cycle rates results in un-useful happenings (like disconnects with some port selectors and/or modems), I though others might find this code (which we also run under BSD 4.3 on our VAXs) useful. I've also forwarded it to Sequent for possible inclusion in subsequent OS releases. If you would like a copy, drop me a note. If you would like the feature included in Dynix, drop Sequent a note also.
