Some applications we have here need to be linked in from library routines from both the att and ucb universe. We've whipped up a kludge that works for now - we explicitly link in /lib/libc.a and then /usr/att/lib/libc.a. This works, but the DYNIX SVAE Summary says not to do this sort of thing. Is there an approved way to use library routines from both worlds in one application? We may have to leave it as it is, but we don't feel comfortable with this solution, since it may not work with future OS releases (at least that is what the warning in the SVAE manual leads us to think). If it were just us recompiling something that breaks that wouldn't be that bad, but this is for software we release to the world (the SR distributed programming language).
