Has anyone gotten the recently posted (comp.sources.unix) automounter, amd, to work on the Sequent Symmetry? There's a note in the INSTALL file that says it hangs the machine. Reason I'm asking is that we've developed a virtual file system that interfaces to the operating system in the same way as amd (mounts itself as an NFS filesystem from host "localhost") and it hangs our S81 pretty solidly. This programs works on all our other machines (Sun3's , Sun4's, Sun386i's, SGI 4D's, and Mac's running A/UX), so I'm pretty convinced the trouble is in the OS and not in the code.
