Has anyone seen or written a reliable, easy to use, set of routines that implements process-blocking (as opposed to spin-blocking) semaphores? I am not satisfied with System-V semaphores, especially the fact that they stay around after all participating processes expire. I would like something similar to what Encore Umax has done or what is advertised for the future UNIX BSD implementation of shared memory facilities (mcall, msleep, etc.). Please mail responses to me and I will post a summary. -- Ken Weber Dept. of Math. Sciences, Kent State U., Kent, OH 44242 internet: kweber@math-cs.kent.edu
