We are trying to get our Sequent, an S27, to talk with the rest of the world via sendmail. We have managed to get it to understand incoming mail but cannot get it to send out. Here is what I get when I try to send mail out: Copyright 1984 Sequent Computer Systems, Inc. laa> mail -v mark@caa tSubject: est hi . EOT mark@caa... Connecting to caa.tcp... mark@caa... Host unknown: Inappropriate ioctl for device Saving message in /usr/u/markvo/dead.letter /usr/u/markvo/dead.letter... Sent laa> The name of the sending machine is laa.mrs.umn.edu and the receiving machine's full name is caa.mrs.umn.edu. Does anyone have any idea what the system may need for us to be able to do this? On a related topic, how does one turn on name resolving? We seem to gotten a "gutted" version of DYNIX. Thanks.
