I am the proud owner of a Perq 1A workstation! OK, you can stop laughing now. I know there aren't a whole lot of machines out there, and certainly not a lot of folks who know or care too much about them. But if anyone at CMU or over in the U.K. has any knowledge about them, I could certainly use some help. Specifically, I need a "boot floppy" with which to load an OS. When I bought the machine it booted up PNX - the ICL version of V7 Unix. Thanks to a small power failure I cannot boot the machine - the microcode interpreter file on the hard disk is wasted. There are three possible choices of operating system for the machine, and while I'm familiar with POS and Accent, which I'd prefer, I certainly wouldn't turn down PNX if someone could help me acquire it. Please -- if you have any access to a PERQ or know someone who does, I really need to hear from you! I'd gladly accept PERQ hardware donations, manuals, a 4-button puck for my bit-pad, articles, letters, nostalgia... ...but no live poultry. Thanks! I'm posting this for my son. Please don't send responses to me. Send them to ...tektronix!upvax!bobbyd instead. Chris Lamb Perq Fanatic, Visionary Hacker, Maniac at Large (503) 288-3800
