[comp.sys.workstations] TCP-IP on Apollo

bhv%igloo%ddsw1%ihnp4%att@mtune.att.COM (05/06/88)

I am looking for information on how to access TCP-IP directly at the
'virtual circuit' level on the Apollo. Our Apollo computers are
linked to our IBM mainframe computers through ethernet with TCP-IP,
and we want to set up a two way communications channel with TCP-IP
between them. The purpose of this connection is to run a SPICE
circuit simulation server remotely on the IBM mainframe, and to
display the results locally on the Apollo using Mentor Graphics MSPICE
program. Mentor has supplied documentation as to how to modify SPICE
to act as a server on the mainframe, and we have information on how to
access TCP-IP from the IBM side. What we are lacking is information
on how to access TCP-IP from the apollo.

I have been trying to obtain this information from our local field
service offices from both Apollo and Mentor, with no success to date.
I would appreciate any information on this topic, either of a
technical nature, or of who to contact to obtain this information.
