[comp.sys.pyramid] hard drives for odd-ball computers

thomas@amc-vlsi.UUCP (Thomas Rozek) (03/19/88)

Is there a reasonably priced hard drive for your home
         computer?

If the price for 20M is over $900 or if there is not a hard
drive available for your computer please leave me a note with the
make of the computer, current price of a 20M drive and whether or
not it has a floppy drive controller installed. Don't just stop
there but tell me whether you would like a 20M hard drive for
         $600.

          Thanx in advance.

Actually, the problem was getting the FE to carry the third Eagle
up the stairs into my apartment...

Seriously, if Pyramid ever puts their CPU set into silicon, I'd
try to get one. Or has SPARC throttled the chances of that?

For at least a year, Pyramid has been saying that they are working on
a VLSI implementation of the Pyramid processor. From what I can tell,
they are making good progress. However I don't think Pyramid has home
computers in mind. I expect to see a bit more overlap between
high-end Suns and low-end Pyramids than now, but Pyramid still sees
themselves as being in the business of making medium to large
machines.
