Pyramid User Community:

In case you did not attend the PUG Conference held in San
Francisco, October 9-12, it was well worth the risk of an earth-
quake. We want to continue the successful information exchange
of the conference here in the eastern region of the United
States, by meeting three times annually for open discussions and
presentations. The first meeting, tentatively scheduled for
Thursday, March 14, 1991, will be an open forum of questions,
answers, and discussion. Pyramid Technology representatives will
attend to hear your concerns, experiences and ideas. More infor-
mation regarding the regional meeting is forthcoming.

We're establishing the US Eastern Region Pyramid Users Group
(USERPUG) so it will be easier for you to get together with your
peers. PUG is a vehicle for bringing attention to important is-
sues, problem resolution, adding new features and software
enhancements, and maintaining good relationships with Pyramid
Technology and other vendors. US Eastern Region PUG can have a
direct impact on the computing industry as it relates to Pyramid
products and services. Please consider the influence that you
can provide by participating in PUG, whether you are a manager,
programmer, user, database administrator, or systems administra-
tor.

We encourage you to become an active registered member of PUG
and this new regional group, USERPUG, though membership is not
required for the first USERPUG meeting in March. PUG membership
is free. For a membership application, call Elaine Glowacki at
Pyramid, 415-335-8937.

We need your help planning, organizing and implementing these
regional meetings. Can you provide a meeting site, serve on any
of the PUG committees (PUGmail, Parity Newsletter, Membership,
Public Domain Software, Issue Resolution, Meetings), serve as a
liaison with Pyramid Technology or third-party vendors, or become
an officer? Or, is there something else you want to do to ensure
the success of this group? To find out what to do next, please
call any of the persons below.
