I'm clueless, but I still need an answer, so here goes... ] Date: Fri, 6 May 88 16:18 EST To: info-68k@ucbvax.Berkeley.EDU Greetings, all! As if no one had enough problems of their own, here's one that I've run into recently. Here's hoping that a kind soul knows the solution and will E-Mail me some enlightenment. I've found out enough about OS-9/68k to decide that we should be running it in the lab, rather than CP/M-68k. The fact is that OS-9 presents a better design for an OS, makes better use of the hardware, and would really add the needed multi-tasking, real time support for monitoring/controlling processes. So I called Microware out in Iowa. I asked for general information, and I asked if they could quote a price for Level I on a CompuPro system. They said they'd be happy to send the info, but that I'd have to talk to CompuPro about availability. Then I called CompuPro. They told me that they only offer Digital Research systems. Dead end. Can this be true? CompuPro seems to sell/have sold the most S-100 hardware, post-IMSAI, Mits, Sol and all that. Is there no source for OS-9 to run on one of their systems? If there isn't, has anyone tried to port it? The more I find out about it, and the more I find out about the users group's library, the more I'd like to get it up and running. Please respond to one of the addresses listed below if you can help. Thanks, Steve Jones Hampshire College "... and many Div's to go before I sleep."
