I have the following 68000-based computer for sale: It's called PT68K-2, made by Periperhal Technology of Marietta, Ga. It was the subject of a series of articles in Radio-Electronics starting in October 1987. I bought the motherboard assembled and tested. 12 MHz 68000 CPU 1 MB RAM 4 RS232 serial (68681 DUART) 1 5.25" 80-track floppy and controller 20 Meg Ampex hard drive and controller XT style keyboard Paper-white monochrome monitor 6 IBM-compatible 8-bit bus slots (4 free) Real-time clock (on-board battery) HUMBUG monitor program in ROM Native OS is SK*DOS, from Star K software. Includes: MS-DOS disk read/write, and numerous other utils "Small C" compiler Documentation, including xerox copies of the entire series of R-E articles describing the design and construction of the motherboard. I am running Minix on this box now. I've got the whole hard disk partitioned for Minix, and the OS is installed on it. The bus slots are reputed to be compatible with any 8-bit I/O-type card that will run in an IBM compatible. I haven't tested this reputation, except with the video and hard drive controller cards, which work just fine. I wanted to hack this box, and Minix, until I discovered that I'm not a hacker after all :^). I'd be happy to answer any questions that I can about it over email, or provide a live demo. I'm looking for $1000, but I am willing to bargain. You can call and leave a message anytime of day at (415)604-4325.
