The UNIX Special Interest Group of the Canadian Information Processing
Society (CIPS) is pleased to announce its next two meetings:



Solbourne Computer:  The First Sun Compatible

Date: Tuesday, September 19, 1989
Solbourne has the first 100% compatible Sun SPARC workstation.  Ron
Pimblett of Solbourne will discuss and demonstrate the Solbourne
4/602.  It has 2 processors (each 10 MIPS), 32 Mb memory, color
monitor and it will be shown running UNIX and X-windows.




Businessland: The NeXT Computer

Date:  Tuesday, October 17, 1989
Businessland has the sole commercial rights to distribute Steven Job's NeXT
computer.  Peter Harvey of Businessland Canada will discuss and demonstrate
the Next computer, featuring 25 MHz 68030 with an optical drive, built-in
digital signal processing and floating point, and running Mach UNIX.


The UNIX SIG is mainly oriented towards people who are new to UNIX.  All
meetings take place at the Board of Trade, from 6:15 to 7:30 pm.  Both members
and non-members are welcome.  We hope to see you there.
