It will help you draw diagrams like flowcharts, system diagrams, electrical schematics, and organization charts. The Dec. '90 release of Flodraw 2.2 adds "laserjet" capabilities and expands the library files to include electronic symbols, LAN symbols and improves the methods for creating and using symbols libraries created by the end-user. A little practice (I've seen users become comfortable in less than 30 minutes) will enable a person to output or modify flow charts faster than the printer can produce them. The ease with which you can manipulate charts makes them a tool instead of a tedious adjunct to the main task. When you register the package, the author makes the uncompiled libraries available, along with an excellent manual. Larry W. I received a few messages pointing out that the click this program produces is hardly audible on fast computers. I knew this was going to be a problem, but I don't know enough assembler to devise a clockspeed-independent delay routine. For those who do not have an assembler, you could try to patch the binary CLICK.COM (e.g. using debug); the word (2 bytes) at offset 3Fh determines the duration and therefore the volume of the click. It may be better to search for the byte sequence B9 28 00, and change the 28 00 into something that works better for you (I'm not entirely sure about the 3Fh offset). I only have an 8 MHz 8088, so I never had a need to make the program speed independent. Anyone who can is encouraged to do so (please send me a copy, or better yet, post it). Good luck. ( PD1:<MSDOS.EDITOR>E2-V321.ZIP ) For those not familiar with this editor, here is a brief description. e2 is a multiple text window editor. It can handle up to 9 files simultaneously and allows the screen to be split horizontally or vertically (or both). It runs under both Dos and OS/2. It has: * Powerful block delete/insert/move (within and between files) * Search and replace (with or without regular expressions) * Last edit memory * Ability to pipe text through (well-behaved) external commands and back to the file * Center, justify and fill filters * N line mode for OS/2 only (N > 25) * Auto wrap or horizontal scroll screen modes * Large file capability * Auto backup of last version * Temporary record of all lines changed/deleted/moved (for recovery) * Idiosyncratic keystokes (remappable to some extent) * Lots of thrashing by staff & students here :-) It hasn't * Context sensitive help * Mouse support * Pretty colours * Maintenance * A price tag Hope someone finds it useful.
