I have uploaded to SIMTEL20:

pd1:<msdos.editor>
EDIT251.ZIP Very small Wordstar-compatible text editor

This version corrects some bugs that appeared on certain machines. I
have also added a version number to the zipfile so as not to confust
the versions.

Full-Featured, Wordstar-Compatible Text Editing System with search and
replace. 26K bytes in Executable. Powerful Integrated File Selection
System. Supports Wordstar 6.0 Commands including file export/import.
Supports backup-file (BAK) suppression from command line. Great for
batch files.

This program also comes with its own built in validation code. To
insure you have an unaltered copy issue the 'edit ?' command and you
should see the following

Subject: GRAVITY2.ZIP - Simulates motions of planetary bodies in space
Summary: Reposted by Keith Petersen

I have uploaded to SIMTEL20:

pd1:<msdos.education>
GRAVITY2.ZIP Simulates motions of planetary bodies in space

Obtained from a local BBS.

Gravity v2.0 is a powerful tool designed to simulate the motions of
planetary bodies in space. You may specify the following parameters
for up to 16 bodies: Mass, Density, Initial position, and Initial
velocity. The bodies are then plotted as they move according to the
laws of gravitation. You can view any location in space at any
magnification. You can also watch the motion of a single planet via a
"tracking" feature. Set up systems and play "what if..." Elapsed time
is optionally displayed, and nearly every variable is available for
user adjustment.

Equipment Required:
  IBM compatible personal computer
Graphics display (Hercules, CGA, EGA, VGA, At&t, 8514/a)
  Disk drive (Floppy or Hard)
At least 384K free memory after boot-up (640K recommended)
80x87 math coprocessor greatly increases speed of running simulations.

Toad Hall Note: I am NOT the author of this program. Don't ask me any
questions about orbital mechanics, quantum physics, etc.

Subject: How to upload to SIMTEL20

I have received many inquiries about why SIMTEL20 does not publish
instructions for uploading files for those who wish to submit their
programs. The reason is that we prefer to coordinate uploads by having
contributors contact us first so we can check to make sure the program
is not already in the repository.

File uploads are accepted via FTP using a special uploading account,
and via e-mail using a special mailbox which does not interfere with
regular correspondence.

If you have a program to upload please send e-mail to me with a short
description of the files you wish to submit.

Thanks to all those who are actively supporting the respository by
helping us keep up to date with the latest programs.

Icon Chooser version 1.0 is the ultimate Windows 3 icon manager by

intuitive "drag-and-drop" interface. Shareware <ASP>. Requires the use
of VBRUN100.DLL (VBRUN100.ZIP) in your Windows directory.

Re: Word-Perfect-Postscript...(V91#132)
I have been successful in doing this as follows: I have a ADOBE PS
CARTRIDGE in a HP LASER JET II, If I choose the post-script driver for
an Apple-Laser IINTX, I have no trouble in printing to my HP printer.
I have also printed to a file. Then up-loaded to a RS/6000 (in binary
mode to keep CR/LF), ftp to a SUN, and lpr to an APPLE LASER.

I think WP51 does produce the correct file endings (ie CR/LF). They are
getting strip in the uploading from a dos to a unix system. This can
be prevented by simply using binary upload (if using kermit) Hope this
helps|

Several other people reported the problem. Sorry it was not caught
before the file was made public. IP205.ZIP has been deleted from the
SIMTEL20 archives. Webb is trying to get a good copy from the author.

I hate self-extracting archives inside archives! This is a good
example of what happens when you can't automatically check the files
with the built-in archive test function in ZIP or another other archive
system.

via FTP or through one of the BITNET/EARN file servers, most SIMTEL20
MSDOS files, including the PC-Blue collection, are available for
downloading on the Detroit Download Central network at 313-885-3956.
DDC has multiple lines which support 300/1200/2400/9600/14400 bps
(103/212/V22bis/HST/V32bis/V42bis/MNP). This is a subscription system
with an average hourly cost of 17 cents. It is also accessable on
Telenet via PC Pursuit and on Tymnet via StarLink outdial. New files
uploaded to SIMTEL20 are usually available on DDC within 24 hours.

Summary: Reposted by Keith Petersen

I have uploaded to SIMTEL20:

pd1:<msdos.windows3>
VBRUN100.ZIP WIN3: MicroSoft's Visual BASIC runtime library

VBRUN100 is the MicroSoft runtime library for the new Visual BASIC for
Windows 3. If you are a Windows user, then you should place the file
VBRUN100.DLL in your \Windows\ directory. You will need this file to
run the many applications that will be coming out written in the new
Visual BASIC.

Subject: VIDPK106.ZIP - Video blanker & hard disk parker.

I have uploaded to OAK.OAKLAND.EDU:

<msdos.dskutl>
VIDPK106.ZIP Video Blanker/Hard Disk Head Parker Utility

Uploaded to our BBS from a local user. Scanned with VIRUSCAN 77.

VIDPARK Version 1.06, 03-Jun-1991, by SMG Software.

This program is a memory resident utility that combines two common
functions: a video screen blanker and a hard disk head parker. The
screen blanker will cause the video display to turn off after a
specified number of minutes of inactivity of both the keyboard and the
video. Once the screen has blanked, it may be restored by pressing ANY
key on the keyboard (including SHIFT, CTRL, ALT, SYSREQ, etc).

The head parker will cause the hard disk heads to be positioned just
past the last cylinder of the disk (which is usually a dedicated
landing zone) after a specified number of minutes of inactivity of the
hard disk. Note that in a system with two hard disks, this program
will park each independently. In other words, activity on drive C: will
not prevent drive D: from parking, and visa versa.

This program will NOT park more than two hard disks, nor will it park a
second hard disk if the second hard disk uses a different controller
card than the first. Either function (Video Blanking or Head Parking)
my be disabled by entering a timeout period of zero (0), and each
function can have independent delay.

In case the problem is that the file is sent to the printer but doesnot
generate any output on paper it can be fixed in the printer driver
using PTR.EXE. One has to place an MANOFF instruction in the page
initialization command. Using this fix we can print WP documents on a
QMS-810 across Ethernet using the lpr package from NCSA.
