Another urban legend is making the rounds again. The message enclosed below has been posted to a large number of newsgroups, and was submitted for posting to news.announce.important. By coincidence, in this morning's (Dec 15) newspaper, there's an article about the story. The boy, who lives in Britain and is not named David, has already received enough postcards to make it into the Guiness book, and he doesn't want any more. The lady in Florida already has more cards than she can fit in her house. PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANY POSTCARDS, AND TRY TO SPREAD THE WORD SO THAT OTHERS WON'T SEND POSTCARDS EITHER. Thank you, Mark Horton moderator, news.announce.important (enclosure) Newsgroups: soc.net-people,att.general,att.misc,misc.headlines,misc.kids,misc.misc,news.misc,nj.general,nj.events Subject: David's Last Wish Keywords: He's trying for a world record There is a young boy by the name of David at the Sloan Kettering Cancer Hospital who is terminally ill. His last wish is to be in the Guiness Book of World Records for having received the MOST Christmas cards EVER. Therefore, they have started a campaign to honor his last wish, and rather simple, request. If anyone would like to take the time to send David a Christmas card, please mail it to: David A Child's Last Wish PO BOX 5997 Spring Hill, FLA 34606
