Hi, I am out looking for ltterature or just stories. I would like to know about migrating programs, what they have been used for, and what people think they can be used for. Migrating programs lives on networks, and have the property that then can execute on one machine for a while, then pack up, and move to an other machine where they RESUME their execution. A related specimen spawns new programs that installs themself on a new machine, but stays there. I am collecting material for my personal benefit, and for a "related work" section of my thesis. Anything is of interest. Migrating programs might be know under other names, such as Active messages and intelligent mail. Harmful versions are called virus... --Kasper Kasper Osterbye ||| /// ///| Internet: kasper@csli.stanford.edu ||| /// ///|| UUCP: {backbones..}!csli.stanford.edu!kasper |||<<< ///||| AT&T: (415) 323 9604 ||| \\\ ///=||| USMAIL: 2420 Tasso st. #3, Palo Alto CA 94301 ||| \\X// |||MIGA
