I am currently working on a distributed real-time system. I wonder if there is anyone out there who has any idea on a pre-runtime scheduler for tasks with fixed deadlines. This runtime-scheduler is supposed to read input from a file which contains the various tasks with different deadlines and computation times. The objective is to cluster tasks to different nodes(given the number of nodes) such that the deadlines can still be met. The output can be several 'make' files, each containing a cluster of tasks assigned to a node. This object files are to be linked together and run on a particaular node. Each of this node can be a multiprocessors or several loosely-coupled workstations connected by a network. If you have any ideas or possibly some source codes written in C which resembles the above descritpions are welcome.
