[comp.os.research] Amdahl's Law

    I've recently found reason to want to actually apply Amdahl's Law,
which as I recall, related processor speed to memory and io requirements.
The question involves how much operating system buffer space it is
reasonable to expect a 60 to 70 MIP system to maintain.

    I seem to recall that Amdahl's law has also fallen into some
dis-repute.

    Unfortunately, I can't find a citation.  Can anyone e-mail me a lead?
