Dear Friends: With the sponsorship of the technical committee on Distributed Processing of the IEEE Computer Society and in cooperation with the Usenix Association, I have been asked to organize a workshop on Experimental Distributed Systems. This workshop will be held on October 11-12, 1990 in Huntsville, Alabama in conjunction with the Ninth IEEE Symposium on Reliable Distributed Systems (see page 54 of the IEEE Computer, January, 1990). The workshop will cover experiences, performance, and observations obtained from current efforts in distributed systems around the world in academia and industry. A similar workshop was held in October 1986 and resulted in a special issue of IEEE Transaction on Software Engineering (June 1989). Please submit 10 copies of a 2 page extended abstract to: Professor Bharat Bhargava Department of Computer Science Purdue University West Lafayette, IN 47906, USA by April 1, 1990. This abstract will be used to invite speakers and participants to this limited attendance workshop.
