I would like to know about all of the distributed systems projects that are completed or underway. I already have information about a few of them including: Project Sponsor ------- ------- Mach CMU Ameoba Tanenbaum Sprite Berkeley Plan-9 ATT Choices U of Illinois Clouds Georgia Tech I realize that these are the popular projects; however, I would like information on all types of work in the distributed computing area. Do you know of any projects? Thanks. -Jeffrey Vetter -jsv@hpsad.hp.com

There is also the V System from Stanford. An overview article is "The V Distributed OPerating System" by David R. Cheriton in Communications of the ACM, Vol 31 No 2, pp 105--115, February 1988. It predates many of the systems on your list. ---------------- Henk Goosen Distributed Systems Group Stanford University goosen@pescadero.stanford.edu
