[comp.os.research] Looking for NFS Implementations

beepy@ennoyab.Eng.Sun.COM (Brian Pawlowski) (10/24/90)

I am looking for NFS implementations, or more accurately,
contacts associated with those implementations. I want the information
for the upcoming Connectathon testing event mailing.

Sun organizes two events a year for the ONC community:

	- Connectathon Annual Testing Event (engineering)
	- ONC Industry Networking Conference (aka ONC Vendors Group
Meeting) (joint engineering/marketing day held annually)

Connectathon has been a staple of the ONC and NFS community since
1986. Held annually, for the past five years (five events) it has
provided a forum for interoperability testing of NFS and ONC
implementations. Two years ago, X and NeWS testing were added on.

[The event is a lot of fun! It is an engineering interoperability
test event, and is accompanied by informal technical presentations
and discussion groups over the two weeks of testing. There were well
over 60 implementations there last time, some connected in
through T1 lines, a lot of non-UNIX implementations, and scads
of UNIX ones.]

So I am looking for contacts to direct information on Connectathon
to. I would like two contacts:

	Important:

	Engineering Contact:
	Name
	Company/Organization Affiliation
	Address
	Phone
	e-mail address

Not Important to Me (therefore Optional):

	Marketing Contact:
	Name
	Company/Organization Affiliation
	Address
	Phone
	e-mail address

(You might want to give me a marketing contact if you don't want
to receive marketing oriented mailings concerning the ONC Industry
Networking Conference, etc.)

Now, I know we over here know a lot of the implementers out there
doing NFS, but ever since I stumbled across this guy from Telelogic AB
who implemented NFS client in Ada for embedded 68000 controllers at
a seminar in Munich, I've lost this belief in our omniscience as
to who all is implementing NFS.

If you are doing work from the public domain specs, don't count
on me knowing about it.

I am acutely interested in Universities/Organizations doing research
in NFS which is compatible with the version 2 protocol (e.g. the Deceit
work at Cornell). I would like some contact on this also.

If you are an NFS implementer and have not heard (or attended)
Connectathon, drop me an e-mail for more info!!!
