[comp.os.research] Distributed Operating Systems

gdtltr@chopin.udel.edu (Systems Research Supervisor) (01/17/91)

I got little response to my earlier request in this area, but this may
be because of bad phrasing and posting during the holidays.
I am a Senior Computer & Info. Science student preparing for an
independent study in distributed operating systems. Before I can begin,
however, my professor has asked me to come up with a list of basic concepts
that I intend to learn in the study. Ideally, I would like to look at a
syllabus for a similar course from another University, but any ideas would
be helpful.
To clarify one point, I have been reading the material on Amoeba, Chorus,
etc., but I am concerned that the issues dealt with in these implementations
may not be sufficient with respect to OS theory.
