Subject: I/O or file system benchmarks

****************************************************************************

I'm compiling a list of I/O and file system benchmarks. So far I've heard of
the following benchmarks:

        NHFSStone (get info from nhfsstone-request@legato.com)
IOStone (requests to eugene@ames-aurora.arpa, see June 1990 Computer
                Architecture News)
        diskrate (Convex)
        bonnie (requests to tbray@watsol.waterloo.edu)
        multi-user iobench (Sun)
TP1, TPCA (transaction processing benchmark, Datamation April 1, 1985)
        Wisconsin Database benchmarks (SIGMOD 1984)
Andrew File System Benchmarks (Carnegie Mellon, see ACM Transactions
on Computer Systems, Vol. 6, No. 1, February 1988)
kenbus1 (used to be musbus), sdet (SPEC)
        Digital Review benchmarks

Some of these are disk benchmarks; others are file system benchmarks; still
others are database benchmarks which happen to do a lot of I/O.

Has anyone heard of any others (and pointers as to how to get more information)?
I'm especially interested in benchmarks that include file system performance,
not just disk performance.

I'd be glad to compile a list and send out a followup message.

Thanks,
    Peter Chen
